In 2007 Sporting Chance International ran its first rugby tournament. Eight teams took part and it proved to be a great success. In this world cup year we are keen to capitalise on the popularity of this sport in Kenya.

Two leagues of four led to semi finals and finals with the full 15-a-side version being played. SCI was pleased to have volunteers from the Kenya Rugby Players Fellowship attend. Each senior player adopted a school team to work with during the day, assisting the teachers. Director of SCI, Alan Thomas, refereed the final won by the hosts, Mang’u School.

SCI are seeking sponsorship to enable more such tournaments to take place.
