SCI has built relationships with several Community Based Organisations (CBOs) within Kenya. We have spent time over a number of years finding people who recognise the value of sport in order to effect change in a community. Together we are able to make a greater difference than trying to go it alone, making the best use of the funds raised by you.
Girls' Soccer Academy in Kibera
Rob Rider from Philadelphia is the founder of this CBO. He makes trips to Kibera every year and lives amongst the people he is helping. He has set up a small school for girls to be able to complete their secondary education. Many of the girls get involved in playing football. SCI has helped with providing sets of kit and holding tournaments.
In 2007 there was a need for an additional classroom to enable the students to sit class to begin A levels. SCI provided this.
